As top-tier research initiatives deployed by China to meet major national strategic needs, the National Key Science and Technology Program focuses on breaking bottlenecks in core and key technologies and strengthening the independent controllability of major equipment. Targeting the urgent practical demands of disaster emergency response, rescue operations and material delivery in China, this emergency flight platform project aims to tackle key technologies such as high-reliability operation of aircraft in emergency scenarios, adaptability to complex environments, integration of multi-mission payloads, and long-range rapid delivery. It will develop a new-generation electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) emergency flight platform tailored for the national emergency rescue system, shore up weaknesses in China’s low-altitude emergency equipment system, and provide new aerial equipment support for emergency incident response.
